Hi! I'm Ali Mitchell, mom to two fun, spicy, wonderfully neurodivergent girls, ages 13 and 5. They've taught me SO much about advocating, navigating school systems, celebrating different brains, asking a million questions, and trusting my mom gut. Did I plan to become an expert in any of this? Nope. But here we are!
I became a POISE School Rep because I've learned a lot along the way — often through trial, error, persistence, and a healthy amount of Googling — and I'd love to use that knowledge to help other families navigate the ride.
POISE has been an amazing resource for our family, helping us work through the hard stuff, celebrate the wins, and connect with people who just get it. If I can help another parent find a resource, ask the right question, feel a little more empowered — or simply know they're not alone in figuring it all out — then I'm happy to be here!
